“Psycho-Pass” Spinoff Novel Published on Noitamina Novels

The broadcast for the TV anime Psycho-Pass is now past its halfway point and has entered its second season. The characters’ backstories and their past connections to the Public Safety Bureau's Criminal Investigation Division are beginning to become clear.

The second season kicks off three years earlier and depicts the events surrounding the Specimen Case. During this bizarre incident in which dead bodies were dismembered and desecrated, the story follows Kogami Shinya after he learns of his subordinate Sasayama’s death. Due to this trauma, Kogami’s crime coefficient increases to dangerous levels and he is demoted to the rank of Enforcer.

This spring, a spinoff novel based on the Specimen Case, called Psycho Pass: The Monster with no Name will be released. Before the novel is released, it will first be published on the “Noitamina Novel” page on Noitamina’s official site. The novel is being written by Aya Takaha, the writer of the TV anime.

Psycho-Pass has enjoyed popularity in several forms of media. The manga adaptation, Inspector Tsunemori Akane, is currently being serialized in Jump Square, and the Psycho-Pass novel (co-written by Makoto Fukami) was just released on Feb. 4.
