“Eva Q” Breaks Through Five Billion Yen at the Box Office! Movie Screenings Expanded to 100 Cinemas!

Evangelion: 3.0 You Can (Not) Redo (also known as Eva Q) has set an unprecedented record for the series. As of Jan. 12, the movie’s total box office earnings broke through five billion yen, with tickets sold topping 3.6 million.

With the movie’s popularity being so monumental, it was decided to expand the scope of the movie’s screenings. Starting on Jan. 26, 94 new cinemas throughout Japan began re-screening the movie. Among these, 84 of the cinemas began screening the movie for the first time. Having been 11 weeks since the movie was first released, this new expansion is quite irregular. It seems that the force of Eva Q still isn’t slowing down.
