Box Office Revenue for “Evangelion: 3.0” Nears 4 Billion Yen, New Present Campaign Begins

Evangelion: 3.0 You Can (Not) Redo has been doing very well since its release on Nov. 17, 2012. Just nine days after its opening, ticket sales for the movie reached two million, which was a record speed for the series. On Dec. 6, the movie reached 2.8 million tickets sold for a box office total of 3.9 billion yen.

In commemoration of the movie’s success, a campaign has begun in which moviegoers who buy a ticket to see Evangelion: 3.0 You Can (Not) Redo will receive a special Evangelion postcard drawn by the movie’s animation director, Takeshi Honda. All four varieties were given out over the New Year’s holiday.

Honda has been a part of the Evangelion series for many years, even acting as the animation director in the TV series. He has gained great attention from fans for his cute characters.

The first version of the postcard features Shikinami Asuka Langley. The postcards are limited, so hurry if you want one!

Even after the New Year’s holiday, Evangelion: 3.0 You Can (Not) Redo shows no signs of slowing down!
