On Dec. 31, 2012 on Nico Nico Live: Q, Tokyo MX, and BS11, Ishin Nishio’s newest anime project Nekomonogatari (Black) was broadcast. The anime was not only broadcast simultaneously on all three channels from 10pm to 12am, but everything about the broadcasts were identical on all three channels as well, even down to the commercials.
Nekomonogatari (Black) is a work about the strangeness of adolescence. The work was originally a light novel created by Ishin Nishio. On the first day of Golden Week, the main character Araragi Koyomi, along with committee chairman Hanekawa Tsubasa run over and subsequently have to bury a tailless cat. The event opens the curtain on “nine nightmarish days”.
The anime’s blending of adolescence and an unnatural bizarreness is quite intriguing. If you haven’t seen it yet, look it up!
