Anime of “Lucky Star” Spinoff Manga “Miyawaka Hungry” Announced at Washinomiya Shrine!

At Washinomiya Shrine, a sacred place for Lucky Star fans, the anime adaptation of the Lucky Star spinoff manga Miyawaka Hungry was announced. At the shrine, an ema was found with the announcement written on it. An ema is a small wooden plaque used to write down prayers. The ema was signed by the original author of Lucky Star, Kagami Yoshimizu, and the director of the Lucky Star anime, Yutaka Yamamoto.

In regards to the announcement, the Washimiya Chamber of Commerce and Industry distributed flyers locally, and an article was featured in Saitama Newspaper’s monthly publication called Saitama Enthusiast.

The manga for Miyakawa Hungryis currently serialized in Monthly Comp Ace. The manga is similar to the four frame style of Lucky Star and features the characters Miyakawa Hinata and Miyakawa Hikage, who were originally introduced in the Nintendo DS game Lucky Star Moe Drill. As a matter of fact, these two characters also appear together in the the final episode of Lucky Star.
