Starting in mid-January 2013, BANPRESTO began offering “Ichiban Kuji - Blue Exorcist ~Aoki Honoo Futatabi~” (500 yen per drawing with tax) the latest lottery from “Ichiban Kuji,” a “no-lose character lottery” that has been growing in popularity in convenience stores and elsewhere. The lottery is available in Family Mart, Ministop, book stores, hobby shops, and other locations across Japan (participation may vary).
Blue Exorcist is a popular serial manga that first appeared in the May 2009 issue of Jump Square. An anime version aired on TV from April to October in 2011, and a film was released on Dec. 28, 2012.
With “Ichiban Kuji - Blue Exorcist ~Aoki Honoo Futatabi~,” participants are guaranteed to win either one of the 24 prizes within 9 different categories or the final grand prize. The A and B prizes are made up of an impressive line-up of Rin and Mephisto figures that recreate in detail everything from their expressions to their clothing, sword, and umbrella. There are a wide variety of other items as well, including a cozy cushion, a collector’s album, a clearfile featuring brand new illustrations, and six different figures plus one secret figure of the highly collectible brand from Banpresto, “Chibi Kyun Chara.”
