Shizuoka to Make Full-length Anime Movie “Mina no Mori no Kanna-sensei”

The city of Hamamatsu, located in the Shizuoka prefecture of Japan, is making an anime movie titled Mina no Mori no Kanna-sensei, which they are aiming to release by the end of the year. The movie is the second part of the two-part Shizuoka Mina no Mori Project, the first part being the live action film Hatatenu Mura no Mina, which is planned to be released before Mina no Mori no Kanna-sensei this year.

The aim of the project is to train rising animators and voice actors through making movies. Applications are currently being taken for the project until April. The anime is being directed by Taku Sugiyama, who is also coaching the aspiring animators. The voice actors will be coached by Fuyumi Shiraishi, who is known for voicing Hoshi Akiko in Star of the Giants. This project goes past just being a simple anime; it’s sure to become a very meaningful work.
