Specialty Vocaloid Comic Magazine “Web COMIC@LOID” Launches!

Vocaloid may have started with Hatsune Miku, but now it is a commonly popular tool that is used all over the world. Vocaloid characters are also commonly used as the motif in other art forms as well. One such art form is comics. On Dec. 26, 2012, a free digital comic magazine featuring Vocaloid characters called Web COMIC@LOID launched on Nico Nico Seiga and BOOK☆WALKER. The magazine also launched on Pixiv Comic on Jan. 7, 2013.

Web COMIC@LOID is the world’s first magazine to collaborate Vocaloid and comics. The first issue of the magazine features the Vocaloid Megpoid character Gumi. The character was originally designed by popular illustrator Tama. The magazine features many of Gumi’s songs, including her first hit “Mosaic Roll” turned into comics.

The concept of merging comics with Vocaloid is a novel one indeed. Vocaloid fans should definitely read this magazine at least once. The next volume of the magazine will be released in March 2013. After that, the magazine will be released around the 10th of every other month on Nico Nico Seiga and BOOK☆WALKER and around the 20th of every other month on Pixiv Comic. Check it out!
