Otome Shinto Performs “GJ-bu” Opening Theme Song

Recently, there has been an increase of girls groups forming who primarily sing anime songs. In particular, ClariS, a group of two high school girls known for producing top hits in rapid succession, has become big news. Now, another new group called Otome Shinto has been created by female middle schoolers. The group performed the opening theme song “Moso Kokan Nikki” for the new anime GJ-bu, which began broadcasting on Jan. 9, 2013.

Otome Shinto is made up of four members: third year students Yurika Takahashi, Wakana Aoi, and Ayame Tajiri, as well as first year student Chika Arakawa. Since they are middle school students, all four members are brimming with youth. Although their debut CD has yet to be announced, fans are definitely waiting in anticipation for the CD single of “Moso Kakan Nikki” to be released on Feb. 20, 2013.

The group has already made their debut on Nico Nico Live. They also already have a Twitter and official site, which are definitely worth checking out. On Dec. 29, 2012, live broadcast program for the group, called “Middle School Idols Otome Shinto’s Fluffy Manifesto Gathering”, was recorded at the Nico Nico offices. It’s a must-watch for those who want to see the girls before their big break.

Otome Shinto are just getting started, and we can’t wait to see how far they go!
