This anime is gathering attention from all over the world!
Mercedes-Benz Japan’s original anime NEXT A-Class has become popular on the internet. Just 19 days after its release on Nov. 17, 2012, the video topped two million views, with 250,000 of those views being spread across 170 countries. No other promotion by Mercedes-Benz Japan has garnered so much attention before.
The original anime NEXT A-Class is a short anime based on Mercedes-Benz’ new generation compact car called New A-Class, which will go on sale in January 2013. The short is about six minutes long and is packed full of entertainment.
The anime is set in Tokyo in the near future and follows three characters as they chase after “that thing” in their Mercedes-Benz New A-Class. Although the anime is partly a promotion, the New A-Class is not the center of attention. The company’s aim was to produce a much talked about anime to appeal to the sensibilities of young people who love high-end anime.
The official site for NEXT A-Class has not only the full anime, but also a making-of movie. The official site also ran a campaign until Dec. 17 in which fans could enter to win exclusive prizes such as one of a kind figures of the main characters and screenplays signed by the voice actors.
