From the original anime series Neon Genesis Evangelion to the movie trilogy Rebuild of Evangelion, Evangelion has seen a complete change, not just within its story, but also within its promotions. Compared to the 90’s TV series, the promotions for the new movies have been quite frequent and assertive. This can be clearly seen due to the plethora of collaboration projects between Evangelion and other companies and industries that have come to fruition during the time span of 2000 to 2010.
An event was recently held that took a look back at the history of these collaboration projects. The event, titled “Evangelion 100.0” was held until Jan. 21 at the Shinjuku Parco Museum. A careful selection from 100 categories of Evangelion projects and collaborations were on display at the event. Items on display included figures, T-shirts, models, official plans and mock-ups, and other impactful items from well known Evangelion collaboration projects. In all, 2000 items were on display.
Aside from the displays, the event also had a shop selling various Evangelion merchandise. Those who spent over 10 thousand yen at the shop received an exclusive Evangelion poster. Also, those who spent at least 3,000 yen received one of 13 different kinds of novelty cards. All in all, the event was a must see for Evangelion fans.
