I mean, you can see the depiction w/your own eyes, so what can I say? I like the character and the show is absurd but interesting.
So this type of compendium is really appealing to me and something I leapt at purchasing. You should too!
So I have really enjoyed getting some Japanese Language versions of the series into the collection. Mary & Yumiko teamin' up, what's not to love.
So I like to have this canon-forming anthology of the manga version. Art here is top notch.
This captures the figure epically and is a great figure. The hair looks fantastic and the expression is in keeping with Shiro's portrayal.
This is a great figure for GuP fans.. Miho is a fantastic protagonist/heroine & this is a cute get up for her. What's not to love? Search me.
The quest to retrieve Kiss-Shot's limbs from the various vampiric vampire hunters continues in this laudable Part II of the series
Most-all anime fans will enjoy this movie.. The occult, the mundane, the amusing & the cute all merge into an enjoyable tapestry.
I mean, what you see is what you get here... If you like all the characters you'll probably get a kick out of this. Don't expect a cinematic masterpiece of nuance though.
This companion series provides another perspective on the goings-on in the world of iiWtTtPUGiaD? I love the primary heroine so I can't complain
It's bigger, at 1/8 scale, but this is a great figure of Asuna in her classic gear/outfit.. Alter is probably the best fig-maker.
In the distant future, or something, young boy-girl teams assume questionable positions to fight off evil monsters for the good of their handlers... I like Ichigo more than 002 but think for a fan why not own the first volume of the franchise.
This franchise isn't for everyone... It's (probably?) a bit tongue in cheek, and definitely ridiculous. There is some heft to the story and its messages underneath the absurdity however and I think it's well done and enjoyed watching.
Good Cafe Style Rize as she is depicted in most of the shows scenes. The gun in hand speaks to her "bad@ss" nature and military upbringing as shown in the series. I own all of the cafe style characters and think they are great - and the most faithful to the franchises depictions.
Based on a scene from the anime, this large 1/6-scaler looks good, but is fragile and hard to display openly.. Her leg actually broke for me without much pressure applied. Tragedy!
The saga continues... Kuroneko, MC et al have more entertaining hijinks herein. Abundant copious features.
This nicely crafted and compact BD-Set completes the Eromanga Sensei tale. It's a great story.
There's a real story here, and some real messages about work, passion, relationships & love. Weird for North American viewers for some stretches, but still epic.
I mean, it's adorable, but again you need the right place to view it.. These lying down figures are tough
This movie was high octane and furthered the good character development we've seen consistently in this series.
Elegant, nicely packaged, cool bonus features, limited edition-y. If you like SAO, why say no.
Emilia's ice magic rules, as does this very faithful representation of the character.
I really like this fig! True, no eyepatch or staff, that's tough, but it's a very good representation of her, especially facial features, IMO. 10/10
Cute dragon-girl goes to school, make friends, has relatively low-octane ordinary elementary school adventures, is turned into a PVC figure, and should be purchased.
The sadistic waitress seated on a teacup looking super cute & earnest - what's not to like? Good paintjob and detailing, great figure.
This is a solid, detailed piece.. The copious setting backdrop pieces are all super great and create a vibe reminiscent of the epic Kizumonogatari movie. It's like 25% too scandalous but works fine when you are viewing it in person. Dope figure!
This is a good figure... Rem is a great character and this toes the modesty/fun to look at line well. It's on my bookshelf corner
I mean, I get what they were going for.. 'Come lay next to adorable and lovable Emilia' on the other hand its harder to display these lengthy and short figures relative to standard standing-pose ones. All in all its a solid figure and a great character!
But still leaving something to be desired... maybe I just like my GuP girls dressed modestly?
Darjeeling is a great character but this figure is just alright.
I'm not sure why, but I don't love this fig.. I think I went overboard on the racing queen theme. It's not bad by any means but I want a cuter Shimada fig for some point.
This is a great display case for smaller figures.. the door slides across the entirety of the access side, and its light weight. I would love a larger version of this for fully standing figs
This is a great story and engrossing adventure! The box set is securely packaged and has some modest/moderate bonus features. If you enjoy the show, a great collectors item, IMO.
I really enjoy this anime - it's a rich world given it's originally based on a mobile game. I look forward to future seasons coming in time!
I mean, this is another "what you see is what you get" in the best way. Kuroyukihime is an epic character and looks fantastic in this demure Bunny Version rendering.
Definitely like this figure a bunch! The spear is good-looking and fits easily. The skirt immodest but not indecent.. Put her at or below eye level. It's a solid figure!
I'm not a swimsuit figure guy, but this is a great depiction of her. I think it was part of an anniversary celebration by the publisher of SAO. She's looking epic here, assuredly.
I mean.. the title says it all. It's cool to see beloved characters in unlooked-for contexts, like Rem in a HS uniform. Well crafted and really a good depiction of her likeness.
I really loved this movie. Without giving away too much, if you enjoy these characters and the animation style, you won't be disappointed, IMO.
Cute and engrossing story of a prodigy's run in with tragedy and spiral downward... Only to be picked up by a mysterious and equally talented albeit unconventional girl. School life, romance, drama & excellent music feature in this nice-looking box set, as well as a bunch of bonus features.
... To Saekano! This is a great and hilarious series. It's over the top at times but it's a real fun journey with vibrant characters and some important messages that resonate.
You may not want to cop this, unless you realllly like these two heroines of the epic monogatari series. It's mostly Japanese text but I don't regret the purchase, per se.
I mean, yes. This is highly sexualized, and the show sometimes illustrates the differences in humor as regards perversion between the States & Japan. BUT.. this is a cute character, in a scandalous but not extreme pose. I got it half as a joke and wouldn't publicly display but do enjoy Nayuta in this depiction.
Mumei in her summer festival outfit, from before we know the hellish depradations which await her and the gang in the rest of the series... Must cop for a fan.
This is a really good depiction of Mumei's bad@ssery in Kabaneri of the Iron fortress. It's tall, intricate, and dynamic. GSC as always does a superb job all around.
It's hard to keep her seated, but this pose is 11/10 dope... Mumei is super classy and focused in the show so it's OK to get a glimpse of her sultry side here! I love it
She's cute and large here. It's a pretty simple piece but I like it b/c the character is so great. Alice is the embodiment of a earnest, adorable exchange student.
I thought Ayame's character was great in Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress. Her bow is seriously thuggish too, 'tho I'm sure it's modeled after the graceful traditional japanese archery. These HDGE Technical statues get top marks from me- the expressions are good, the paint (her hair especially) is epic, if you like the show these are must buy.
Asuna looks cute here in the school summer uniform... It's fun to see well known characters out of the context/outfit we associate w/them, which would be knights of the blood for Asuna.. So, very much in favor on the whole and recommend this figure.
Mumei is a complete boss, obviously. This is a beautiful build of her mid-run, in her combat gear. Kabane beware, she takes no prisoners. 10/10 fig and one of my favorites of a favorite character.
I like these clear files as a way to get some cheap media related to solid franchises.. SAOA:GGO is a good anime and this clear file is a good depiction of the protagonist/heroine.
I love these box sets with bonus features... YLIA is epic as all get out. It's a bit of a younger-set-driven love story, but it's also about passion and parental expectations, as well as the value of effort and resilience. Encourage you to support the franchise by purchasing!
This is just a hilarious anime with some great messages and lovable characters. I mean, the premise is a touch absurd, but amidst all the ridiculousness I think there is a lot to like here. The BR box is itself good looking and relatively compact. Recommended, 100%
Obviously this isn't gonna be scale figure quality, but its a cute somewhat holiday-y Chino, with the character surrounded by gifts. If you want to inch into buying figs this might be a place to start- give you a 'taste' of the high(er) end type of stuff.
Maho is a straight thug, and an epic one at that. The stern countenance depicted here is appropriate & amusing. She's not to be taken lightly, but should be taken into your cart through check-out.. Go GuP!
It's one of those, what you see is what you get type of conundrums... A cute, solid figure not deserving of criticism, but is relatively straightforward and not iconic as other Megumin figures are.
Rin is pretty epic, and has a great personality archetype... In addition to being a bad@ss mage. This fig has great paintjob and is a nice mix of profile shot and action pose. Recommended.
A more relaxed, non-battling Saber! It's a cute pose and well crafted figure. Recommended.
Gentle, traditional Japanese Chiya-chan rules. Who wouldn't rep her to the moon and back based on the show? This is a solid lower-tier-quality fig, easy cop.
This cute simple show figures a lot of scenes revolving around Takagi teasing the doofus protagonist from her adjacent desk. Here's that exact image! Takagi is dope, so gotta rep the fig.
Aria is a great show because it's another nuanced number, with a lot of world building you learn more of as we travel with the protagonists/heroines.. This figure is great b/c it's a true to canon depiction of our earnest main character, Akari. One can't help but root for her!
These types of anime shows - less flashy and more nuanced, with character driven stories - don't get enough love, in my opinion. This series is worth a watch and the Blu-Ray worth a cop if you enjoyed the show.
The movie is an obvious cop. A beautiful story with a lot of important messages for viewers of all ages, IMO.
I really enjoyed this movie.. I think the animation style, characters and themes all are superb and resonate with me meaningfully. You'll enjoy it and/or the series, or Rebellion, the new-canon movie.
I haven't seen the movie so maybe when I eventually do I'll appreciate the bad@ss-ery depicted within.. On the whole its a solid fig but not remarkable and has a huge box which is sub optimal. Definitely not bad - if you know of this sequence and like it I would encourage you to buy!
This is just a cool figure, IMO. The detail and intricacy of the craftsmanship really shows and there are no obvious flaws. I'm a big fan of it.
I like these China dress figs, the craftsmanship is solid as is the painting. The ancora rabbit on a platter is a great touch in keeping with the vibe of the show.
As such, owning all the Blu-Ray sets is an easy call. Open or deadstock, these stories bear out Nisio Isin's reputation as a good storyteller.
Steins;Gate is one of those nuanced shows that doesn't explain itself too much but is nuanced... This figure does justice to the title character! Mysterious & well crafted, the base too.
Fate fans will like this LE set as an ode to the franchise.. The mobile games are super popular, how many of these sets have been produced? Maybe they'll go up in value in 5 years!
This is a great fig! Beautiful painting and a great and faithful representation of the title character of the show.
This scene was a bit absurd, but Japanese humor can err towards that at times as many of us know.. The figure is amusing as the good natured class rep is thrown into a comedic situation she surely did not anticipate. Overall, solid.
This show rocks across the board; it is a cathartic cuteness-fest with no holds barred. These art books are beautiful, Koi is a fantastic illustrator.
Mildly ridiculous show Eromanga Sensei heroine Sagiri looks cute here. A solid figure.
She looks good here. The nose is like 5% questionable but that could just be me - shouldn't dissuade you from the purchase. I like the sword-action pose, Asuna is bad@ss
This is a cute, well designed figure, and I have no complaints.. I haven't watched the series and it's a bit too mature for the character in question, but it works. I enjoy it all things considered.
Eh, not really... Pretty sure she's living somewhere in Belgium or something. I like all these Bunny style figures because "Is the order a rabbit" generally rocks. It's a little mature-ish but not beyond the pale in my opinion, since we all know they're so arrayed for the most altruistic and innocent of reasons. Chino-chan's mildly grumpy and shy personality are adorable.
Basically, putting the wings in this succubus is a hellacious task. I ended up getting a crystal nail file to remove some jutting protrusions which were complicating putting her right wing in. It's a massive, majestic figure, with a huge box. If you are not shy about enjoying Overlord... get her and then eagerly await the Ainz figure next year.
I always look to support franchises I really like by getting the expanded media paraphernalia... Case in point being these fan books, which while not easily readable to the New Yorker I am, make me happy to possess them and are chock full of amusing illustrations. If you got a kick out of the comedic/ridiculous anime I'm sure you'd enjoy having this on a bookshelf.
I think Miho is a truly epic protagonist. The combination of military strategy, earnest cute girls seeking to work together towards a common goal, and the absurdity of highschoolers & tanks all just work for me. These are some great illustrations, specifically, though obviously the text is not going to be immediately apparent to a non Japanese-fluent person. You can theoretically use google translate on your phone tho if so inclined.
GuP girls have returned to give us a tour of their various tank models.. I have to respect the nerdy dude who fused his love of cute anime girls with nitty-gritty in-depth knowledge of tanks which are basically antiques. This ultimate guide should be by thy side!
This is one of the most realistic and intricately crafted figs I have scene. The box is super compact and assembly is easy. The amusing action pose is a good fit for the character and prospectively your bookshelf!
I like these traditionally garbed figures generally and this one is no exception. The box is compact as hell, if you want to store it. It's a sweet, solemn expression and good manufacturing quality here, in my opinion.
This figure is a little pale, but I like the Aqua character a bunch so I'll let it slide. The low-octane and comedic nature of this low-intensity series shines through this character in a relatively action-y pose. Overall I'm pleased with it.
Moe-bomb and destruction magic afficionado Megumin looks good in this Kadokawa crafted pose. I like that it's for a publication's 30th anniversary celebration as well. It's a faitful representation of the character's likeness.
I enjoyed the series, and like the art on the Blu-Ray. I am happy to have it in a place of relative honor on my anime bookshelf!
Only in Japan would being tall be such a curse... This anime takes place in the SAO world and is entertaining. The Blu-Ray is nicely packaged and a good collection addition.
ROGW is great because it's one of those anime where there is a lot of intricate world building afoot. There's a lot of depth in the world with various magic wielders & warriors striving to build up their power bases while we learn more about the protagonists. Gotta love a cute and earnest mage-girl!
These LE sets are probably not too massively produced, so I think they are valid long term deadstocks if you're happy to stream the series.
This relatively simple anime is a relaxing and entertaining watch.. I am always looking to support anime like this by getting the "guide/illustration/works" from Japan, or TOM. It's a good way to have an archive of series you really enjoyed.
The guide itself here is top notch. Kudos to Yamamoto-san/sensei..
These are great characters, and the anime is highly recommended. The book is great as well with beautiful illustrations. No matter that it's in Japanese!
I didn't love these movies, a little too somber for me and not enough character development to have the subject matter resonate with me very much.
This somewhat sad but adorable and moving story has a worthy figure here.
Good representation of the deadly sworld wielding princess...
The show was mediocre but I enjoyed that character enough to purchase the manga and this fan book.
Lot of text, smaller sized books..
Not quite, but near HaNaYaMaTa emotional resonance for me. The foreigner in Japan twist is well done and fun.
Quite badass, well designed, no obvious flaws.
Great franchise & cover illustration as well.
Kuroyukihime rules, as do these illustrations.
Definitely the most amusing of the three, Part I of Kizumonogatari has that great surreal vibe.
Probably the most dope of the three? Almost certainly. Quality book & illustrations
Has a great story and excellent character design. Here's some good durable merch to support and rep the franchise. Duh!
Archetype-y cherry blossoms & a solid heroine? Count me in.
Saber and Ilya is a cool combination conceptually. I haven't actually gotten to this point in the series or even properly given it a watch, but I like the fig.
Another larger figure at 1/7 scale. Good finishings & pose.
Good Pose, Good Detail. Solid Kotobukiya piece - not gonna knock your socks off but a very reasonable portrayal of the character.
High quality illustrations of all the main characters and settings.
Aqua & Megumin rule. There are two figures coming out based on this illustration, and its a good visual guide to the series.
Fun story, rare as hell to not be high school setting.. 1/3 hinted-at yuri (not grimace inducing) 1/3 interesting japan game tech insider scoop 1/3 amusing character interplay. 100% solid.
Good illustrations of Mikasa and others who you might care about. There's a reason this franchise is so popular!
Syaro is one of the greatest. Who couldn't love her? This figure does her reasonable justice.
If you're a fan of the anime, season 3 just being out, this is a solid merch to memorialize.
Fate/Stay Night is some zany content, but if you bear with it, a very rich story.
This isn't the cutest figure of her, but it's a good apparel choice and suits her mood/likely reaction to being outfitted so.
Gotta love them and their earnest striving/attempting to bring happiness to others.
Not too remarkable, but not sure what I'd add.. If you're a fan of Sagiri, makes sense.
A little too deep and mysterious for me to get fully immersed.
Large and Detailed, lifted from one of the blu-ray covers. Does the illustration justice IMO.
Who loves the sniper character archetype. I think he's enjoying it despite having never seen SAO!
The series is light hearted, I probably enjoy her most of the heroines therein.
Soldier is a boss, and this exhibits his important skills - tac visor, missile launch, & good old fashioned mowing down the opposition from afar.
Kuroko is epic. I respect her as a determined warrior and loyal companion to her beloved Onee-Sama. Also, teleportation is awesome. Index/Railgun really glows with epic-ness when it explores the interesting ways the Espers powers can be unleashed. See her fight against a fellow teleporter in Index II.
Develops the characters and plot -- not unexpectedly, but solidly. Highly recommended.
I am always happy to buy the B-Ray Box Sets of solid franchises when they are distributed in English (and im moments of weakness, I have the Japanese iterations...) tIaMH is an interesting story with some twists on the tropes. I bet these will eventually have some value, unless next gen consoles completely do away with Blu-Rays..
Overlord is great because it mixes in humor with gritty and rules based conflict and interpersonal dynamics. It's nuanced, and fun to watch. This is a great illustrative companion.
I don't like the Frames Arms Girls, but this was the first plastic model I've purchased... I'll update when I finish it, but I am looking forward to the end result.
Pleased to support this creative and well executed TOM project. Keep 'em coming!
I like supporting these small-$ creative merchandising experiments. An OK screen cleaner, but are you buying it for top notch utility? If so, dumbbbbbbb
I didn't love the anime as much as I had hoped, but this is a good depiction of the main characters.
Obviously Index is good fun, but Misaka Mikoto is probably my favorite character of all media. MM vs. AIM Burst and the 3 minutes leading up to it are some of my favorite video entertainment moments ever, bar none. Gotta get their can badges! Easy cop.
Much better than 02, IMO. Great character archetype. Can't read Japanese so I bought it solely on her prominent featuring. Looking forward to her figure from the ending credits leaning off the bridge.
This series always put me at ease. The characters are decent and the slow moving, mellow plot work well as a backdrop. Gotta love 'em, it & this book!
If you really enjoy one of these Franchises, hey, it's on you to support it, and a guide/visual/illustration book is good for non Japanese readers in that context. Who knows, if these become vaunted classics over the long term it could appreciate in value!
Obviously this story is a bit weird and not entirely kosher by our Western values, but it toes the line -- doesn't cross it extensively.
I live the character design for this show, though the plot wasn't especially engrossing... This is a good pick up if you agree w/my sentiments.
Gotta support the franchise & our beloved and ever-earnest heroines via procuring this merch. Great illustrations of all the main cast.
I got them due to love of and stock ownership in Kotobukiya. I am also a big Star Wars guy. Works great for some tapas or katsu curry; not for a big meal with many different things... Gotta conceptually respect the bento life.
Looks great, good representation of the character and a fun desk side figure. Not over the top or too provocative.
Great character too- appropriately cute for the vampire in question.
Cute figure that captures the character well and seems well crafted. I enjoy this figure! I also think it being the first collaborative project by TOM for a figure (two others subsequent) could be good for pristine resale value in coming years... Who knows! Gotta support anime.
This is a great figure, I think. Well detailed and reasonable, not over the top (in a negative way) — very well crafted.
I like the base, and love the character. I'm a big fan and it's a nice battle pose. I definitely am amused by the fact that it's the 're-modeled' iteration of Yuudachi.
I'm a huge fan of this figure, the eyes are striking and it has that feel of quality craftsmanship. Not to mention the character on which it is based being fantastic, of course... I will get a nice display case for this figure
