Oreimo is the affectionate fan name for the rather lengthily titled franchise Ore no Imouto ga Konna ni Kawaii Wake ga Nai. Beginning as a series of light novels written by Tsukasa Fushimi with illustrations by Hiro Kanzaki, Oreimo has also been adapted into a manga by Sakura Ikeda which is serialized in Dengeki G’s Magazine, as well as a TV anime series broadcast in 2010 produced by AIC which was then followed up by a second season produced by A-1 Pictures in 2013.
The main story centers around older brother Kyosuke Kosaka - a regular high school boy living in Chiba, and his younger sister Kirino. The two haven’t been on very friendly terms for years but when Kyosuke suddenly finds out his sister is a huge nerd with a taste for eroge (adult-orientated visual novels), he quickly becomes her accomplice in all things otaku. The series follows the growing relationship between the pair as Kyosuke tries to help Kirino reconcile her secret hobbies with the rest of the world.
