It doesn’t often happen this way, but sometimes dreams do come true! Ninja Slayer started out as a series of novels written in English by American authors Bradley Bond and Philip "Ninj@" Morzez but really caught on after they gave permission for the books to be translated into Japanese and posted on Twitter. Shortly after, the Japanese translations were picked up by Enterbrain and the series has now been adapted into an anime produced by Trigger as well as three different manga adaptations including Yoshiaki Tabata and Yuki Yogo’s in Comp Ace, Ageha Saotome’s Ninja Slayer: Glamorous Killers in B's-Log Comic, and Ninja Slayer Kills in Kodansha’s Suiyoubi no Sirius.
Set in the cyberpunk-inspired city of Neo-Saitama, Ninja Slayer is the story of former salaryman Kenji Fujikido who finds himself involved in a ninja turf war after his wife and child are murdered by rogue ninja. Fujikido then gets possessed by the soul of a ninja known as Naraku Ninja whose intense desire to kill ninja feeds into Kenji’s own thirst for revenge leading the pair to merge and become Ninja Slayer - a terrifying anti-ninja vigilante!
