Fourteen-year-old middle school girl Madoka Kaname is the protagonist in the massively popular anime from Shaft and Aniplex which has completely revolutionised the magical girl genre - Puella Magi Madoka Magica!

One day, in her home town of Mitakihara, Madoka and her friend Sayaka Miki encounter the mysterious creature known as Kyubey who wants to sign a contract with Madoka and turn her into a magical girl to fight witches. Madoka believes herself to be a person with few talents, but after seeing her friend Mami Tomoe in action she decides to become a magical girl just like her, ignoring fellow student Homura Akemi’s warnings about Kyubey’s duplicitous nature.
