KonoSuba also known as KonoSuba: God’s Blessing on this Wonderful World and Kono Subarashii Sekai ni Shukufuku o! began as a web novel written by Natsume Akatsuki which was revised into a Japanese light novel series illustrated by Kurone Mishima. It was then adapted into a manga illustrated by Masahito Watari, a drama CD released by Hobi Records, and finally an anime produced by Studio Deen.

Main character Kazuma Sato is a loner gamer who suffers such immense stress he dies from it and is sent to a parallel reality where he becomes an RPG character by the power of a goddess named Aqua. The two choose to party up in the RPG reality. Surprisingly, she knows more party tricks than actual skills which will benefit them.

They soon gain two other party members: Megumin who only knows one, albeit incredibly powerful, explosion spell, and Darkness who is a crusader with great strength, but little accuracy. Kazuma has little hope of ever actually defeating Aqua’s nemesis, the Devil King, yet tries to make the best of the RPG reality while going on hilarious adventures as they battle the Devil King’s generals.

Occasionally they speak with the kind-hearted goddess Eris who is younger than Aqua but far more worshipped and Wiz who is a kind, helpful lich wizard towards civilians and lost spirits despite being one of the Devil King’s generals.
