The Raiden, known as “Thunderbolt” or its Allied reporting name “Jack,” was designed by Jiro Horikoshi to be a local-defense interceptor, but was later improved to become a high-performance machine. With increased firepower, endurance, a streamlined airframe, and the capability to reach high altitudes, the Raiden went on to become a proud example of Japanese innovation. This model accurately replicates these features, from its self-cooling engine, curved wings akin to those of Horikoshi’s Zero model, to the complex cockpit operating mechanisms. Enjoy recreating and displaying this historical giant from aviation history in minute detail!
