Let the daytime inhabit your room with this textile panel print of “Inhabit the Daytime,” a piece by Japanese artist Kana Ohtsuki! A girl sits alone in a residential area, seemingly lost in thought as the sun shines down in her. She has the calm, quiet features of many of Ohtsuki’s female subjects, but, around her, the artist creates a dynamic juxtaposition between peaceful greens and blues and their abstract, almost chaotic arrangement on the canvas among the more realistic depictions of scenery. This unique illustration has been printed on polyester fabric attached to a wooden frame, creating a panel that can be hung directly on your wall.
About the Artist
Kana Ohtsuki is a fine artist born in 1984 and currently residing in Kyoto who captures women, people, and life itself! Using young girls as subjects, she depicts the present day primarily through acrylic paintings. She has participated in numerous art shows both in Japan and abroad since 2007 and holds at least one solo exhibition in Japan each year. Her notable shows include “Regenerative Circuit” in 2007, “Regarding My Sea” in 2008, “Nothingness Produced” in 2009, “Before Becoming Everything” and “Clouds and Stones” in 2010, “Milky White Town” in 2011, and “The Horizon Emerges,” “Mother Horizon,” and “The Between From Everyone” in 2012. As an illustrator, she has also designed for Resona Bank and Epos Card and has produced work for film art, books, posters, and CD covers.
