Medicom adds to its popular Dynamic Heroes lineup with this special Mach Drill edition of the Koutetsu Jeeg from the eponymous mecha anime created by Go Nagai and Tatsuya Yasuda. Originally running on Japanese television from 1975-76, Koutetsu Jeeg has remained loved by its many fans and was given a brief resurgence after its appearance in the Super Robot Wars video games, which lead to a new anime series called Koutetsushin Jeeg being broadcast in 2005. The series follows the adventures of Hiroshi Shiba, a race car driver and son of a famous scientist who later develops the ability to transform into Koutetsu Jeeg in order to protect Japan from an evil corporation. This version of the famous robot sports the Mach Drill which was seen in Episode 4 of Koutetsu Jeeg titled “The Killer.” As seen in the series, Koutetsu Jeeg was often assisted by the horse-like robot Pantheroid, also a member of Medicom’s Dynamic Heroes lineup, and in an especially cool touch, you can indeed combine the two figures! Pantheroid is sold separately, but you wouldn’t want to separate such a noble hero from his trusty steed, would you?
