Black Clover's very first anime film has revealed its main visual and a new cast member!
Titled Black Clover: Sword of the Wizard King, the film will feature an original character named Jester, to be played by Fumiya Takahashi.
Originally a manga series created by Yuki Tabata, Black Clover follows an orphan named Asta who possesses no magical powers in a world where everyone else does. Despite this obstacle, he is determined to gain such powers and someday become the next Wizard King.
In 2017, it was adapted into a TV anime that ran for 170 episodes until 2021. The upcoming film will welcome back Ayataka Takemura, who directed the last 18 episodes, as director. Pierrot will once again animate the series with a screenplay by Johnny Otoda and Ai Orii, as well as character designs by Itsuko Takeda, who also illustrated the key visual above.
Black Clover: Sword of the Wizard King will be released simultaneously on Netflix and in Japanese theaters on March 31, 2023.
