Anisong legend LiSA is returning to the Sword Art Online franchise with "Yuke," the theme song for Sword Art Online the Movie -Progressive- Aria of a Starless Night!
Composed by Ayase (of popular music duo Yoasobi) with lyrics by LiSA, the song marks two years since LiSA's last collaboration with the popular franchise, "unlasting" (used as the first ending theme song for Sword Art Online: Alicization - War of Underworld).
Originally a light novel series by Reki Kawahara, Sword Art Online follows talented gamer Kirito as he is trapped inside a virtual reality MMORPG, where those who die inside the game also die in real life. While searching for a way out, Kirito must fight to survive alongside another skilled player known as Asuna.
As the franchise's second anime film, Sword Art Online the Movie -Progressive- Aria of a Starless Night explores the beginning of the series from Asuna’s point of view.
Sword Art Online the Movie -Progressive- Aria of a Starless Night will open in Japan on October 30, 2021. It is also slated for a North American release in 2021.
