Hello from Tokyo! How is September treating you? Over here, it may have gone back to being hot and humid for a while, but we’re definitely looking forward to all the awesome maple leaf colors that fall will bring!
For when it becomes possible to travel again, here are some starters for fall view spots in Tokyo. If you feel like some exercise, try Mount Takao, which has a bunch of great hikes that are only about 50 minutes from Shinjuku by train. If you’re really pressed for time, Rikugien Gardens isn’t far from Shinjuku and Ikebukuro, but it’s still a wonderful place to forget you’re in the city. Plus, they have an otherworldly night light up event (which will hopefully be held again sometime soon!).
We’ll still have to wait for a while, seeing as the leaves don’t start changing colors the moment it becomes September. Then again, we have plenty of patience from all that waiting for new releases, whether it’s anime/manga, games or figures…! And with that, here are 72 new items now up for preorder on the TOM Shop. MegaHouse’s Gundam Guys Generation continues to bring us figures of our favorite guys from Mobile Suit Gundam, and joining this time is the dashing Red Comet himself, Char Aznable! Sculpted by RESTORE and Pinpoint at 9.8" tall, Char has been captured in a dynamic pose as he lifts off with his jetpack, recreating the scene from the final episode.
He wears his normal red suit and standard issue Zeon helmet, a rare look for him especially in figure form, and his floating pose is supported by his jetpack’s powerful jets of air as he holds a bazooka in one hand and gives an intrepid salute with the other. He also comes with multiple head parts, so you can display him with his helmet on either with or without the visor, or with his helmet off.

From MegaHouse comes a music-themed spin-off to their popular Desktop Army series, Desktop Singer! And kicking off the series are three fan-favorite Vocaloids: Snow Miku, Kagamine Rin, and Megurine Luka! Each 3.1" figure features a cute chibi design by BLADE, and each comes outfitted with special armor and includes speakers that can be combined together to create “Full Speaker Mode.” Of course, as with all Desktop Army figures, they feature common hardpoints that make them compatible with parts from throughout the series, giving you an endless amount of customization options! The soldiers of the Earth Federation Forces from Mobile Suit Gundam are joining MegaHouse’s Gundam Military Generation figure series! Themed after the final showdown at A Baoa Qu, this set includes two male soldiers and Sayla Mass. Each of the figures is 1/18 scale and comes with an M71 pistol, holster, two side pouches, and harness. Additional parts include a land mover for Normal Suit Soldier 05 and an attache case with gold bars for Sayla. Also included are bonus parts that when combined together create a cockpit, so you can even recreate boarding scenes.
