MAPPA has dropped the first teaser video for its upcoming anime adaptation of popular manga Chainsaw Man!
The trailer was revealed at a 10th anniversary event for MAPPA held on June 27, where the anime's main staff was also announced. Ryu Nakamura will direct with a script by Hiroshi Seko and character design by Kazutaka Sugiyama. Tatsuya Yoshihara will serve as the action director, Makoto Nakazono as the chief technical director, and Yusuke Takeda as the art director. The devils will be designed by Kiyotaka Oshiyama, while music is to be composed by kensuke ushio.
Based on Tatsuki Fujimoto's horror manga, Chainsaw Man follows a young man named Denji who becomes a devil hunter in order to pay off his dead father's debts to the yakuza. After falling victim to a plot by the yakuza, he merges with his demon dog Pochita to become Chainsaw Man.
