Legend of the Galactic Heroes Movie Trilogy Set for Late 2019 Release!

Sci-fi anime Legend of the Galactic Heroes Die Neue These has announced the release dates for each of its upcoming trilogy movies: Sept. 27, Oct. 25, and Nov. 29!

Inspired by the classic ‘80s novel series by Tanaka Yoshiki, Legend of the Galactic Heroes has been adapted into anime films and OVAs numerous times since its debut. Its newest adaptation was led by Production I.G. under the title The Legend of the Galactic Heroes: Die Neue These, which premiered in Apr. 2018. The movie trilogy will make up the “second season”, with each installment running for the length of four regular episodes.

The two teaser posters released for the upcoming trilogy feature the main cast in new illustrations by character designer Kikuchi Youko.

Legend of the Galactic Heroes Die Neue These: Seiran will open on Sept. 27 with Part 1. Part 2 will follow on Oct. 25, and Part 3 on Nov. 29.
