New March comes in like a lion OP to be Performed by Unison Square Garden

The second season of shogi anime March comes in like a lion has been running since Oct. 14, and from January the show will be getting a new opening theme by rock group Unison Square Garden.

The new opening, titled “Haru ga Kite Bokura”, will also be released as a CD single on March 7, with the digital release one week later on March 14. The CD will be available in both a limited edition first press version with bonus DVD and a standard edition.

Unison Square Garden is a rock trio formed in 2004 and featuring Saito Kosuke as the vocalist, Tabuchi Tomoya on bass, and Suzuki Takao on drums. The band is no stranger to anime theme songs, having previously provided an opening theme for Tiger & Bunny (Orion o Nazoru), and an ending theme for Blood Blockade Battlefront (Sugar Song and Bitter Step). They released their 6th album, “Dr. Izzy”, in July 2016 before heading out on a 44 city tour. In 2017, Unison Square Garden’s music was also featured in TV drama Dansui! ("Silent Libre Mirage"), TV anime Welcome to the Ballroom ("10% roll, 10% romance" / "Invisible Sensation") and Blood Blockade Battlefront & Beyond ("Fake Town Baby").

March comes in like a lion airs Saturdays 11:00 pm on NHK General TV.
