Detective Conan: Crimson Love Letter Earns Over 6.35 Billion Yen in Box Office!

Released on Apr. 15, Detective Conan: Crimson Love Letter is the 21st film of the franchise’s film series. After 44 days of being showed in theaters, nearly 5 million people have gone to see the movie, and it has earned over 6.35 billion yen at the box office.

The film is set in Osaka and Kyoto, and Edogawa Conan (Shinichi Kudo) and Hattori Heiji, the great high school detectives of both the east and west, make appearances. There’s a bit of a love story added to the mystery, as well, with Mouri Ran and Toyama Kazuha both appearing in addition to Heiji’s self-declared fiance Ooka Momiji.

Detective Conan movies have been outdoing each other back-to-back since the release of Private Eye in the Distant Seas in 2013, and this new film is continuing the tradition with 107% growth from the last movie, Darkest Nightmare. Crimson Love Letter took 1st place at the box office rankings for the week of its release, and even a month and a half after its release, it continues to be a popular choice as it aims for 5 million moviegoers and 6.5 billion yen!
