2017 will mark the 37th annual Sanrio Character Ranking! Fans can choose their favorites among 100 different characters this year including classics like Hello Kitty, Pompompurin, Cinnamoroll, and Gudetama from May 10 until June 11~
The theme this year is “Everyone’s different. Everyone’s Cute.” If you want to see a complete list of the 100 characters competing, you can see it here!
Every character wants to win, and it’s no easy feat, so they have to do all sorts of fun events and projects to get attention. Cinnamoroll is among those trying to take first place this year, and part of that is the “Cinnamoroll Challenge” project through which the cute character is trying all sorts of new things. Watch Cinnamoroll dance like a J-rock star in this video!

There’s also a collaborative decision where you could choose among adorable collaborations with series like Tamagotchi, Animal Crossing, and Transformers! There’s a total of 29 in this division this year, and the winner will get fun events like an appearance at Sanrio Puroland.
We'll have to wait until July 2 for the results, but in the meantime, it looks like we can look forward to some adorable promotional art and events!
