It was announced at “AnimeJapan 2017” that Matsuda Ryo will be playing Kaneki Ken in the stage adaptation of Tokyo Ghoul! A visual of Matsuda as Kaneki also appeared in issue 18 of Weekly Young Jump and the official site!
Tokyo Ghoul was serialized in Weekly Young Jump from Sept. 2011 until Sept. 2014, and it was followed by the sequel, Tokyo Ghoul:re, the following month. It’s been a hit with more than 22 million copies printed as of Mar. 2017. An anime adaptation aired from July 2014 through September, followed by Tokyo Ghoul√A from Jan. 2015 until March.
The series was then brought to Tokyo and Kyoto stages in July 2015, and it’s coming back this summer! Auditions for Kaneki were announced in Weekly Young Jump, and Matsuda Ryo won.
