Manga readers usually know what to expect when watching the anime adaption of a series, but One Piece readers are in for a surprise with the upcoming "Marine Rookie" arc. This anime-original story will begin broadcasting Mar. 19!
This time around, Luffy and his crew begin their adventure by racing to Whole Cake Island, where Sanji is being held captive. But things never go as smoothly as planned, they realize, as they run out of food and face the looming prospect of starvation. Desperate, they decide to infiltrate a Marine base... only to run into three marines served under Kuzan (a.k.a. Aokiji)!
Hanae Natsuki will be voicing Grant, who greatly admired Aokiji then and now.
Yasumoto Hiroki will be voicing Bonam, a senior member of the group.
Furukawa Makoto will be voicing Sappa, a skilled dual swordfighter whose shy personality disappears around beautiful women.
Finally, Vice-Admiral Prodi will be making his first anime appearance. Voiced by Tadano Youhei, Prodi appears to be an old friend of Garp, Luffy’s grandfather.
