Mari Okada of Anohana and Nao Emoto of Forget Me Not Join Forces on New Serialization!

Author Mari Okada and illustrator Nao Emoto have joined forces on a new serialization titled Araburu Kisetsu no Otome-domo yo set to begin in the January 2017 issue of Bessatsu Shonen Magazine on sale Friday, Dec. 9. This new manga was announced on the next issue preview page in the magazine’s December 2016 issue on sale Wednesday, Nov. 9. The announcement was accompanied by the text “A new coming of age story from an uber-powerful tag team!!” Information is still sparse on what kind of story it will be, so look forward to the serial’s start in the January 2017 issue of Bessatsu Shonen Magazine releasing next month.

Mari Okada
Author and member of the Writers Guild of Japan. Mari is primarily active as a scriptwriter having worked on such anime as True Tears, Toradora!, Hanasaku Iroha, Anohana, Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans, and others. She also writes for a wide variety of other media including animated films such as Anthem of the Heart, novels, stage plays, and more. Araburu Kisetsu no Otome-domo yo is her first time authoring a serialized manga.

Nao Emoto
Illustrator. Her works include Forget Me Not (original author Mag Hsu) which was serialized from 2014-16 first in Shukan Shonen Magazine and then in Bessatsu Shonen Magazine. The series continued to gain popularity after the magazine switch, and it was collected into seven tankobon volumes in total which have sold roughly 500,000 copies. Her latest work is the one-shot story Esora Hikouki published in the September 2016 issue of Bessatsu Shonen Magazine.
