The beautiful character Launch from Dragon Ball has been recreated in her calm and graceful state with a voluptuous body for the “Dragon Ball Gals Launch Black Hair Ver.” figure! It goes up for pre-order for 10,638 yen (tax and shipping included, handling separate) on Aug. 4 on Premium Bandai.
■ About the Figure
Dragon Ball Gals is a figure series recreating the ladies of Dragon Ball. The black-haired version of Launch is now making an appearance with incredible style and a charming pose.
Launch was brought to the Turtle Hermit Master Roshi by Goku and Krillin after he asked them to bring him a woman. Her body is emphasized through a short tank top and hotpants.
Launch has a strange disorder which causes her personality to change when she sneezes. Her, she’s showing her sweet and gentle side with black hair. Her more aggressive blonde side was already revealed and comes with her machine gun and a hand grenade. Compared to that figure, the Black Hair Ver. is a lot more composed. She has no weapons and looks carefree, almost like she’s humming.

■ About Dragon Ball
This long manga by Akira Toriyama began its serialization in 1984’s 51st issue of Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump and lasted 10 and a half years, finally ending in 1995’s 25th issue. It follows protagonist Son Goku and his adventures and battles surrounding Dragon Balls, seven treasures which get scattered around the world. Once all seven are gathered, one wish is granted. The anime adaptation began in February 1986 on Fuji TV. The series Dragon Ball Super (Sundays at 9:00 a.m., some exceptions apply) began airing 30 years later in July 2015. Both the manga and anime are loved around the world.
Launch
This character appeared in the beginning of Dragon Ball’s serialization. She has a strange disorder which causes her to switch between a calm personality (black-haired) and violent one (blonde) whenever she sneezes. She was introduced to the Turtle Hermit by Goku and Krillin after Master Roshi told him that he’d make the boys his pupils if they brought him a woman. Launch’s black-haired side brought a lot of laughs to readers with silly slip-ups like carelessly making tea with poison in her usual aloof style and asking King Piccolo, “Are you Picnic?”.
