This birthday set was created to celebrate the birthday of Gintoki Sakata, the protagonist of the Gintama manga series serialised in Weekly Shonen Jump. The set includes a plate, place mat, and a badge with a stand, so you can celebrate Gintoki's birthday in style!
The 19.5-centimeter diameter plate is decorated with an adorable chibi Gintoki and the words "Happy Birthday" written out in Japanese. ■ About Gintama
Serialised in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump since the February 2004 issue, Gintama is the popular manga series by Hideaki Sorachi. Set in an alternate Edo period in which humanity has been taken over by aliens called Amanto, this sci-fi historical comedy tells the story of the samurai Gintoki Sakata and his friends who solve all kinds of problems as an odd-jobs company. The manga has sold over 50 million copies, and as the story heads towards its final chapter, things are getting more and more exciting.
The first season of the Gintama anime series started in April 2006, with the second season running from April 2011 to March 2012 and the third season running from April 2015 to March 2016. The Gintama Station series of 14-minute episodes has been airing on Kids Station since July 2, 2016.
Gintama: The Movie was released on April 24, 2010, and the second Gintama movie Gintama: The Movie: The Final Chapter: Be Forever Yorozuya was released on July 6, 2013. It's been a few years since the last Gintama movie, so the live-action adaptation set for release in 2017 is a hot topic.
