New Info About Kyoto International Manga Anime Fair 2016 Including Character Cafe Kuroshitsuji Yuki Chaya & Stage Performances Released!

The Kyoto International Manga Anime Fair Executive Committee has released new details on western Japan’s largest manga and anime trade fair, the Kyoto International Manga Anime Fair 2016, which will be held at several locations including Miyako Messe (Kyoto Kangyo-kan) on Sept. 17 and 18! The latest details include information on the character cafe Black Butler Yuki Chaya, as well as the second batch of stage events which includes My Wife is the Student Council President+, Shoshin Shojo Matoi, and Tokyo 7th Sisters.

The special event Ani☆Con Kyoto in KyoMaf was also announced, as well as the student voice acting competition Seidama!

Black Butler Yuki Chaya Development Details

The Funtom Cafe, which is hugely popular in Harajuku and Osaka, will be making an appearance at KyoMaf as a tea house. They’ll be serving original food that you won’t be able to enjoy anywhere else including a collaborative burger, Kyo udon, and Japanese-style parfaits. Original goods sold only at KyoMaf will also be available! These include collaborations with local businesses including pottery from SIONE and nail polish from Kyoto Gofun Nail. Original Yuki Chaya items are also being planned. Be sure to visit in September!

There will be a variety of events including talk shows for different manga and anime, and entry will be on a raffle basis. You can apply by purchasing a ticket. The maximum capacity for this room, including both seating and standing, is 900 people.

1:00 p.m. to 1:30 p.m.: Ayaka Suwa’s and Naomi Ohzora’s Soshin Shojo Matoi Radio!! Public Recording
● Performers: Ayaka Suwa (Matoi Sumeragi), Naomi Ohzora (Yuma Kusanagi)
● Content: This will be a public recording of Ayaka Suwa’s and Naomi Ohzora’s Soshin Shojo Matoi Radio!! based on the anime Shoshin Shojo Matoi (airing in October).

Sept. 18 Lineup
11:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.: My Wife is the Student Council President+ Special Stage Event
● Performer: Sora Tokui
● Content: This talk show will feature Sora Tokui who plays Honoka Saijo, a new character in the new season of My Wife is the Student Council President, My Wife is the Student Council President+, which airs in October. The second promotional video will also be aired!

The Machicon event Ani☆Con Kyoto in KyoMaf will be held!

Ani☆Con will be held as a triple-collaborative event between the anime channel Animax, Machicon Japan, and KyoMaf. Since it began in 2014, Ani☆Con has been held periodically around the country. It was most recently held in six cities in June and July, and more than 1,400 anime lovers participated. Since all participants share that quality, even newcomers can relax and make friends in a carefree environment. Participants vary from light fans to hardcore ones, so anyone can participate. After you’ve had some fun at KyoMaf, make even more friends and maybe meet someone special at Ani☆Con!

The international voice acting competition for middle and high school students held in Kyoto, Seidama, will once again be at KyoMaf. The voices (and voice actors) for Kyoto’s subway train characters were born here. Everyone aiming to be a voice actor should not miss out on this chance at KyoMaf 2016!

Application Requirements: Students of Japanese nationality within their first year of middle school or final year of high school residing in or commuting to school in the Kinki region (Kyoto, Osaka, Hyogo, Shiga, Nara, Wakayama, Mie) as of July 2016. (International entries must be done through the International Category of the main competition.)
Entrance Fee: Free (although you must pay for mailing in applications and traveling expenses)
