Fashionable watch brand Wired is teaming up with Attack on Titan for a new series of collaborative watches to be released through Seiko on Sept. 9 in stores across Japan. Pre-orders are set to begin from July 3!
The AGAK701 (Eren) model will retail for 20,000 yen (plus tax) and the AGAT712 (Levi) for 23,000 yen (plus tax). The watches will be limited to 1,750 pieces only worldwide with 1,500 reserved for Japan.
Wired was founded in Tokyo in 2000 as a next generation watch brand with the mission statement “From Japan to the World” and the aim of merging fashion sense with high functionality. Popular with the 20s-30s age group, the brand aims to connect people through good fashion sense just as its name suggests with cutting-edge designs that make every day shine.
Attack on Titan is a shonen manga created by Hajime Isayama which began publication in Bessatsu Shonen Magazine in October 2009 before becoming a smash hit TV anime broadcast from April to September 2013. The manga tells the story of the last remnants of humanity who live in a closed off world behind giant walls and form the resistance towards the extremely powerful Titans which threaten them. The franchise has so far proved hugely popular with fans winning the 2011 Kodansha Manga Award for shounen manga and will shortly receive a second season of the TV anime adaptation which is set to begin later this year.
The collaborative watches aim to represent the series’ universe through featuring two of its best loved characters: Eren and Levi.
Eren
The series’ protagonist, Eren Yaeger is a passionate, slightly reckless young man who dreams of the world outside the walls. After enlisting in the Training Corps, Eren has his sights on transferring to the Survey Corps which ventures beyond the fortifications.
Levi
Captain of the Survey Corps and “Humanity’s Strongest Soldier”, everyone calls him “Captain.”
Watch Highlights
**1. Beautiful, high quality feeling**
The “AGAK701 Eren Signature Model” has a Survey Corps themed navy dial with the Wired logo and Survey Corps Wings of Freedom emblem at the top which lends it an elegant, high quality feeling.
The “AGAK712 Levi Signature Model” comes with a golden casing and a dial in the Survey Corp’s classic dark green coloring. The dial itself also has the Wired and Survey Corps Wings of Freedom emblems, making for a calming finish which really brings out the elegance and high quality of the design.
2. Finely tuned craftsmanship
The side of the casing is engraved with either “Eren Signature Model” or “Levi Signature Model.”
3. High quality custom box
Each of the watches comes in a limited edition, high quality custom box which is modelled on the magazines used by the Survey Corps.
4. Pins and stickers featuring all new illustrations
The collaborative watches also come with pins and stickers featuring brand new illustrations of Eren or Levi wearing the collaboration watches.
5. Limited edition serial numbers
The watches are strictly limited to 1,750 pieces worldwide. The serial number of each watch is engraved on the back cover alongside the silhouette of Eren or Levi and the Wired logo. The No. 0001 watch will be presented to the original author, Hajime Isayama, as a special gift.
