Citizen Watch Co., Ltd. is releasing six Hello Kitty collaboration models (priced between ¥30,000~¥35,000 +tax) under their brand Wicca, a line of “newest kawaii” watches directed at girls in their teens and 20s that combine the latest designs with reliable functions. Unfortunately for those overseas, the watches will only be available in Japan. They are coming out on June 10, which is Time Memorial Day in Japan.
Wicca is a brand offering watches featuring designs taken from the latest trends as well as practical solutions such as using solar cells, making periodic battery changes unnecessary. Now, this super cute brand is collaborating with Japan’s representative cute character, Hello Kitty. Hello Kitty is loved all over the world for her cuteness. She was also chosen as the face of the government’s promotion campaign to invite tourists to Japan, acting as an ambassador of sorts.
The collaboration models were made with a simple design and Kitty on the dial so that wearers can enjoy her cuteness every day. The round model has a gorgeous pink Swarovski crystal embedded in its crown, while the tonneau model has two on the dial for decoration. Since they were made with Solar-Tech (Eco-Drive), a technology using solar cells that can be recharged via exposure to sunlight or indoor lights, there’s no need for regular battery changes, which further adds to their functionality.
