■ About the Envelopes
These Special Monetary Gift Envelopes feature designs based on the popular PC browser game Touken Ranbu and three Touken Danshi that appear in it! Featured in the character lineup are Mikazuki Munechika, Tsurumaru Kuninaga, and Ichigo Hitofuri, and each envelope is well-suited for even special formal occasions!
The decorative cords were put together by Japanese artisans, each handmade based on each Touken Danshi’s “family crest.” These crests are also applied onto the envelopes in golden leaf.
Each envelope also comes with narrow cards including one saying “Congratulations,” a blank one, and one with the specific character’s name written on it, so you’ll be able to use these for any occasion.
・Mikazuki Munechika
Featuring a scarlet red cord with tufts, the design for Mikazuki Munechika’s envelope’s cord resembles a crescent moon in reference to his name. It captures the calmness of Mikazuki through the dark color of the envelope paired with the sharp gold leaf design.
・Tsurumaru Kuninaga
The decorative cord recreates a beautiful crane, a bird loved throughout history. The crane image is stamped onto the envelope and looks wonderful against the white paper for a high-quality design that suits even the most precious occasions. It also appears once more in the style of a family crest in gold leaf on the bottom-right.
・Ichigo Hitofuri
Despite its complex design, this beautiful envelope is overflowing with elegance and is tied up beautifully in its decorative cord. The paper inside also has a pearl tint which adds a refinement that pairs perfectly with the texture. The gold also looks stunning against the deep blue of the envelope.

■ About Touken Ranbu
*Touken Ranbu* is a PC browser game from DMM Games and Nitroplus. Players take on the rule of sage (or saniwa) and collect Touken Danshi, personifications of historically significant swords, whom they use to fight their enemies. This game has become popular for a number of reasons including the real history and swords appearing in its story. It became so popular in the first week of service in January 2015 that it couldn’t accommodate new players. Since expanding the servers it has continued to grow in users, and its influence is seen all over in the form of fans purchasing more books about Japanese swords and visiting more museum displays on swords.
A smartphone application was also released in March for iOS and Android called Touken Ranbu Pocket which communicates with the PC browser version.
