Namco’s Cafe & Bar Characro in Akihabara began a new collaboration with Yowamushi Pedal on May 27. In addition to enjoying a compilation of anime clips along with original food and drink, fans can also buy limited edition goods with special illustrations like aluminum keychains. There is also an opening event until June 19, the Manami Sangaku Birthday Festival, celebrating the birthday of protagonist Sakamichi Onoda’s rival, Sangaku from Hakone Academy.

■ About the Facility
Cafe & Bar Characro collaborates with different series for a limited time, and has now opened a collaboration with the TV anime Yowamushi Pedal. Its concept is that it’s a cafe and bar within a facility where the champion biking schools come together for a joint training camp, and inside you’ll find things like inter-high school flags and sponsor flags. A special compilation of clips from Yowamushi Pedal are played on 10 monitors and a 183” screen, as well as a mini attraction where fans can vote for their favorites among different categories!
■ Food Menu
The food menu includes six items featuring different characters and schools that appear in the series. Team Sohoku’s menu includes a sandwich with the Tadokoro family mark on it in honor of Jin Tadokoro’s family bakery, among other items that are sure to delight fans! There are also food items based on Hakone Academy and Kyoto Fushimi High School’s Akira Midousuji. With the purchase of one item, you’ll also receive one of six randomly selected placemats with original designs.
■ Drink Menu
There are 13 drinks available based on characters including Sakamichi Onoda and Shunsuke Imaizumi. The Sakamichi drink has a stirrer with glasses, and the Imaizumi drink has jelly with his T-shirt design, among many other cool drinks! Each drink also comes with a special coaster chosen based on your drink’s character!
■ Limited Edition Items
There are limited edition items featuring original illustrations of Team Sohoku and Hakone Academy characters dressed as staff at the cafe and bar including products like aluminum keychains and clear files. There’s also a coaster album available that’s perfect for the coasters you get from ordering from the drink menu!
■ Opening Menu Manami Sangaku Birthday Festival
From the opening until June 19 there will be an event celebrating Hakone Academy’s Manami Sangaku’s birthday on May 29. There’s a special Happy Birthday Drink (non-alcoholic wine) that comes with a coaster featuring a birthday design, as well as a commemorative birthday festival acrylic stand! For this period, all plates will also come with a slice of chocolate cake based on Sangaku!

■ About Cafe & Bar Characro
Based on the concept of a “crossover between the real world and the worlds of different series,” Cafe & Bar Characro is an entertainment cafe and bar. You can enjoy different drink and food in a room themed on a specific series while watching special clip compliations and taking in entertaining plays.
■ About the Yowamushi Pedal
With more than 15 million copies printed, Yowamushi Pedal is a popular work about bicycle road racing by Wataru Watanabe serialized in Weekly Shonen Champion. The first season of the anime was broadcast in October 2013, and the second season, Yowamushi Pedal: Grande Road, was broadcast in October 2014. A Yowamushi Pedal movie was released in August 2015. The film adaptation of the spin-off Yowamushi Pedal: Spare Bike has been set for release in September 2016, and the third anime season will begin broadcasting in January 2017.
