Toymaker Bandai, which has sold countless sweets to date themed after characters, has launched Sucre Caractère, a sweets brand aimed at adult ladies, and its first lineup—which features chocolates, candies, and macarons—comes in the form of the “Sweet Moon” series themed after Sailor Moon. They are available for pre-order now on Premium Bandai.
The “ArtismChoco Moon Coffret” comes with milk chocolate in a variety of themes including Sailor Moon and Tuxedo Mask, costumes, and items from the series.
The coffret is pink and white. The outside is embossed with Sailor Moon motifs, and features a one-point moon emblem too. It’s priced at 5,400 yen and will be released in February 2016. Though it’s a bit early, maybe you can pre-order one now for use on Valentine’s Day?
The “Sailor Moon Candy Make Up Mix” is a collaboration with original handmade candy brand Candy Show Time. It includes candies themed after Sailor Moon, the Transformation Brooch, Crystal Star Compact, Starlit Sky Music Box, and Tuxedo Mask.
Each bag (660 yen) includes one of five special stickers, and there is also a complete five-piece set (3,060 yen) of all five Sailor Senshi too. These will be released in late October. We’ve also been told that Candy Show Time stores are also selling “Moon Mix” candy sets that contain different designs, which too are a must see.
The “Princess Time Macaron” series features five macarons in pastel colors with prints themed after Sailor Moon. The macarons are made with almonds from Spain and come in tasty flavors that include citron, peach, vanilla, caramel, and pistachio. They cost 2,160 yen and will be released in December. These may even be perfect for gatherings during the Christmas season and for New Years parties.
Sucre Caractère, which means “Sweet Confectionary Characters,” will continue from hereon to perfect genuine character sweets through aesthetics and taste. What series they’ll make sweets for next may be a curiosity that stays on fans’ minds.
