A live-action movie adaptation has been greenlit for the popular manga Kurosaki-kun no Iinari ni Nante Naranai currently serialized in Bessatsu Friend (Kodansha). The already announced cast includes a wonderful lineup: Sexy Zone’s Kento Nakajima is playing main character Haruto Kurosaki, Nana Komatsu is playing heroine Yu, and Yudai Chiba is playing Kurosaki’s friend, Takumi Shirakawa.
The movie is being written by Yuko Matsuda of Hanasaki Mai Speaks Out fame and directed by newcomer Sho Tsukikawa. It is slated to release on Feb. 27, 2016. Though we’re still about half a year away, this is certainly good news for fans.
Drawn by Makino, Kurosaki-kun no Iinari ni Nante Naranai is a love story set at a school. A secret to its popularity comes from situations that come flying out left and right of girls daydreaming about “how they want guys to act.”
Haruto Kurosaki, being played by Kento Nakajima, is a “sadistic demon.” Upon on her parents relocating for work, heroine Yu suddenly begins living in the dorms on her school’s campus. Also living in the dorms are the “White Prince” and star of the school, Takumi Shirakawa, and the “Black Demon” who is feared throughout the school, Haruto Kurosaki. Yu’s first kiss is stolen away by Kurosaki, who is also the dorm’s resident advisor, as punishment for disobeying him, and following this Kurosaki puts her under “complete obedience.” A highlight of the story is Yu being torn between the Black Demon and White Prince.
This will be Nakajima’s third starring role in a movie. However, it will be his first love story. Moreover, concerning his role playing a male who’s a “sadistic demon,” it will certainly be a performance looked forward to by female and male fans alike.
On the other side of things, Nana Komatsu is a model who is widening her career as an actress as well. She gained attention with the role of heroine Yuni Kururugi in Kin Kyori Renai, and many are talking about her performance as heroine Miho Azuki in Bakuman set to be released on Oct. 3. Playing Shirakawa, the polar opposite of Kurosaki, is Yudai Chiba who gained popularity from the Sentai series and has also worked on Bakumatsu Kokosei and Ao Haru Ride. This seasoned group of actors playing wholly unique characters makes this movie one to look forward to.
