Free!, a work by Kyoto Animation, has been stealing the hearts of girls with its story of handsome adolescent high school boys as they swim. Its first season was broadcasted during the summer of 2013, its second, Free! Eternal Summer, during the summer of 2014, and a movie based on the light novel by Koji Oji, High Speed! - Free! Starting Days, is planned to premiere in December 2015.
A collaboration is coming out between that popular work and the young lady’s brand Cecil McBee which has shops opening in places like Shibuya 109. Tunics and T-shirts are being made, and they look poppy, casual, and easy to wear again and again.
This striped tunic features the Free! Eternal Summer logo which looks handwritten. It is decorated with a border including a whale, shark, penguin, dolphin, and butterfly, which comes in fluorescent or gold foil, but what’s going to make a fan grin? That there’s a variation in the hem, and the design will give your body a clean line. It comes in two colors: navy and black.
The design of this relaxed T-shirt is very summer-like with swooping shoulders. It has a fun necklace printed on it including each character’s motif. It comes in three versions: navy, off-white, and pink.
This tunic got its inspiration from characters wearing sailor fuku. The arm hs character motifs, and Free! is signed on the back in sailor colors. It comes in light blue, green, and purple, and the polka dot sailor look is cute.
This Free! collab will look great thrown on at the ocean or by the pool, and they’re all M-size and 3,700 yen (tax not included). This actually isn’t the first anime collab Cecil McBee has done. In the spring they sold Cardcaptor Sakura, Creamy Mami, the Magic Angel, and Danganronpa 1-2 Reload items. It’s said they’ll continue collaborating with popular characters and other trends, so keep a look out for future developments.
