The newest Yowamushi Pedal stage play will hit the stage this October. The title of the play is Butai Yowamushi Pedal Irregular ~Futatsu no Choujou~ (Stage Play Yowamushi Pedal Irregular ~Two Peaks~).
The story of Irregular will focus on Makishima and Todo, both popular characters in the series. Makishima is a member of Sohoku High, and Todo is a rival member of Hakone Academy. Fans will likely have their eyes glued on what kind of work this stage play will be. The latest news on this is printed in the 31st issue of Weekly Shonen Jump (Akita Shoten) on sale July 2.
The Yowamushi Pedal stage plays began in 2012 and are highly regarded, with six plays having been performed so far. They are large endeavours that incorporate the manga and anime. Because of their popularity, the stage plays became a series.
Also announced at this time are the cast members of Stage Play Yowamushi Pedal Irregular ~Two Peaks~, many of whom are reprising their roles from Stage Play Yowamushi Pedal Inter-High Chapter: The Winner. Performing as Yusuke Makishima is Tomoki Hirose who has played the character since 2013. He also has other stage experience including the stage play Watashi no Host-chan and dramatic readings of A Moment to Remember and Takiguchi Enjo.
Nishida Shatner is continuing as director and playwright, and Manzo is in charge of the music. Performances will be held this October and November in four cities: Tokyo, Osaka, Nagoya, and Fukuoka.
Yowamushi Pedal is a popular manga by author Wataru Watanabe that is currently serialized in Weekly Shonen Champion. Highly popular as an anime as well, a new movie written by Watanabe is set to be released in theaters this August.
