Author Akira Himekawa’s “Legend of Zelda” Serialization is Returning After Seven Years!

This news was announced on July 2 on Akira Himekawa’s blog and on Nintendo’s official Twitter. After a seven-year hiatus, the serialization is returning anew.

The Legend of Zelda comic series was serialized in a children’s magazine from 1998–2008. The series has comicalized and made into tankobon volumes several installments from the Legend of Zelda, including Ocarina of Time and Phantom Hourglass. However, publication stopped for the magazine it was serialized in in 2009, and since then the comics have also been on hold.

Fans of the series aren’t contained just in Japan, the series has popularity all over the world including the U.S. and Europe. Even fans overseas have been requesting the next title in the comic series.
