A television series based on Onsen Yosei Hakone-chan, which is currently distributed by the manga website Comic Meteor will be made into an animated TV series. Broadcasts will begin from October 2015 on Animax and Television Saitama, among others. Along with the announcement, key visuals and the series’ staff were also revealed. With an autumn broadcast on the way, this will surely be a series to look forward to!
Onsen Yosei Hakone-chan is based on the original manga by Daisuke Yui. It’s a slapstick comedy that tells the story of Hakone-chan, a hot spring spirit who, due to her long slumber, appears in the form of a little girl. Also present is the high school student Toya who joins Hakone-chan in the struggle to take back her original powers.
The celebrate the announcement of the anime adaptation, the manga has been republished on Comic Meteor. Currently volumes 1-3 are available online. Potential viewers of the anime this autumn may enjoy the anime more if they check out the original manga!
The key visuals show the cute Hakone-chan dressed as a shrine maiden. Two characters including Toya are shown, making this illustration one that increases anticipation for the new series! Because there are so many cute characters, we have to make sure not to miss the casting reports!
In charge of direction, production, and character design is Takeyuki Yanase of Himegoto fame. The scriptwriters will be Korie Tomonaga, best known for Soreike! Anpanman, and Funassyi no Funafunafuna Hiyori, as well as Momoko Murakami, who worked on Pretty Rhythm Aurora Dream and Locodol.
The animation directors will be Yanase and Masaaki Sakurai, known for Nisekoi and Survival Game Club!. Asahi Production and Production Reed will share the animation production duties. The series is scheduled to air with 13 episodes on Animax, Television Saitama, and other networks.
