This year’s “animemirai,” a project for training animators and other persons of talent developed by the Japanese Agency for Cultural Affairs, is taking on the new project name “ANIME TAMAGO.” On June 9, it was announced that four anime are being produced by different studios for the project.
This project, which is going on its sixth year, is a continuation of the existing training project that will offer practical training for young animators in the area of production. The name of the new project, ANIME TAMAGO, is a coined phrase that mixes anime with the Japanese word for egg, tamago. The name is symbolic of young animators breaking out of their shell to grow their talents.
Due to talented animators being able to create digital animation this year in addition to the project’s training regimen thus far, there is anticipation for even more developments than before.
