Anime song festivals are gathering popularity from being held all over. Among them is a big anime song event to be held in Okinawa, the southernmost part of Japan. The Ocean Expo Park Anisong Day 2015 will be held for two days on June 20 and 21 at the Ocean Expo Park in Motobu, Okinawa Prefecture. Beginning with Ichirou Mizuki, the king of anime songs, there will be concerts by talented artists.
Anisong Day was also held last year on Saturday, June 21. This year’s event is a continuation of last year’s and has been extended to two days. The event will be held on a special stage in the Yuhi Plaza of Ocean Expo Park, and as the event is free visitors can stop by as they please. Performers include Ryoji Tokito, Koji Wada, Masaaki Endoh, and Ichirou Mizuki on the first day (June 20), and Yuri Kakazu, Ai Kawamitsu, Sayaka Sasaki, Hiroshi Kitadani, and Masaaki Endoh on the second day (June 21). This wonderful lineup is full of artists who have sung theme songs for Digimon Adventure, One Piece, The King of Braves GaoGaiGar, and more.
The visual shows Ichirou Mizuki at the center, who has sung countless anime songs for such series as Mazinger Z, Steel Jeeg, and Chodenji Machine Voltes V. Mizuki continues to be widely active with many concert performances overseas as well as in Japan. Anisong Day 2015 will be a momentous event for being able to hear Mizuki sing in Okinawa.
A plaza of delicious food will also be set up at the event venue with booths by local restaurants in Motobu. Attendees will be able to enjoy not just music but also food at the event. A free shuttle bus will also be in operation, which should make it easy to get around. Many people are expected to visit the event given the high popularity of anime songs in recent years. With passionate singing voices to be heard resounding through Okinawa, it seems it will be a hot event on several levels.
