A new development has been announced in the ongoing collaboration between Evangelion and Schick Japan which began in 2012 and has caught massive attention. The new campaign, “Schick x Evangelion Campaign 2015,” began on Tuesday, May 12.
A highlight of the collaboration is the upgraded campaign products. First up, the “Schick Hydro 5 Collaboration Pack” contains two additional items. The first is a sensor stand in the form of Eva Unit-01, and the other is a suction cup holder elaborately designed with Unit-01’s face. The sensor stand has an inner stand that raises up when a hand is placed over the sensor. It also has an on/off switch. The suction cup holder can be used to store the shaver on a mirror or glass. It’s characteristic is its elaborately designed Unit-01 face motif.
There are also Hydro, Quattro, and Protector products available. These each include a PuchiEva Balance figure. The cutely deformed, highly popular PuchiEva figures can be enjoyed by hanging them from a glass. There are four characters available, each intricately detailed: Gendo, Rei, Asuka, and Mari. The poses of the characters, which include them holding a towel and having foam on their face, are also interesting and unique to this campaign.
A web-exclusive video has also been released on a special site for the campaign. The campaign prior was showered in attention for showing Gendo Ikari smiling, and the impact this time is similar. This side of Gendo that isn’t normally seen may have an impact on more than just fans.
