A collaboration has been confirmed between popular manga Attack on Titan and Odaiba’s Tokyo Joypolis. The event, titled “Attack on Titan in Joypolis,” will run for three months, from June 27 (Sat.) to Sept. 30.
Various plans will be carried out for the collaboration beginning with thrilling attractions inside Tokyo Joypolis, food items, and more. Stage shows will also be held.
Among what’s planned, a highlight will be screenings of a special movie using projection mapping. The “wall” that plays such a vital role in Attack on Titan will be on the main stage at Tokyo Joypolis, and the Colossal Titan will appear depending on the time.
Also at the event will be prizes and event goods including Attack on Titan Chimi Chara. Chimi Chara are favorites among fans, and these come in 11 versions specially illustrated by Nitroplus’ chibi artist, Yupon. The illustrations are of characters Eren, Levi, Mikasa, and Jean wearing Joypolis uniforms. There are many items unique to this collaboration that also use Tokyo Joypolis’ original characters Lopit and Joypoly-kun wearing Survey Corps uniforms.
Attack on Titan is a manga by Hajime Isayama currently serialized in Bessatsu Shonen Magazine. Up through volume 16 has been published, and the series has surpassed 42 million copies in print. It was adapted into a TV anime in 2013, which became wildly talked about.
From an anime to feature length animations, live action movies, and even dramas, Attack on Titan is being developed across a huge range of media. The movie Attack on Titan Part 2: Wings of Freedom will be released in Japan on Saturday, June 27.
