The event “Escape from the Great Underwater Prison Impel Down,” which was held at Zepp locations Japan-wide in 2014 to high acclaim, is a Real Escape Game based on the anime One Piece. Because of its popularity, a second One Piece Real Escape Game has been confirmed and will get a huge power up this summer.
Beginning this June, “Real Escape Game x One Piece Part 2: Escape from the Battle of Marineford” will hold a large tour stopping at 10 stadiums and domes across Japan. Due to the popularity of the first event held in 2014, which brought in approximately 53,000 people, it seems that many fans will challenge themselves with solving the game’s riddles this time as well.
“Escape from the Battle of Marineford” will be the largest tour in the history of the Real Escape Game. It will combine the popularity of One Piece and Real Escape Games, a type of game created by SCRAP, pioneers in the field popular for the detailed content they put into the games.
In the game this time, players become pirates with the goal of escaping with Luffy from the Marine headquarters at Marineford when a battle breaks out. The objective is to save Luffy, who is on the verge of death, while evading the fierce attacks of the three admirals of the Marines. In order to make the game easy to play for families and first-timers, the special feature of the game this time is that players can choose between a beginner or family kit. The kits contain thorough explanations of how to solve the riddles, so even beginners can enjoy the game at a difficulty level they are comfortable with.
The event will kick off on June 19 at the Meiji Jingu Stadium in Tokyo before moving on to Yokohama Stadium in Kanagawa, Kobe Sports Park Baseball Stadium in Hyogo, Denka Big Swan Stadium in Niigata, Yafuoku! Dome in Fukuoka, Tokyo Dome in Tokyo, Osaka Municipal Central Gymnasium in Osaka, Nagoya Dome in Aichi, Rakuten Kobo Stadium in Miyagi, and Kusanagi Stadium in Shizuoka. The tour will include 10 stops total.
Tickets will go on sale May 2 at noon (JST). Advance tickets cost 3,300 yen, tickets at the entrance cost 3,800 yen, advance tickets for elementary school students cost 1,700 yen, and tickets at the entrance for elementary school students cost 2,200 yen.
In other news, an encore of the first game, “Escape from the Great Underwater Prison Impel Down,” has been confirmed. This will run from April 30 to May 4 at Tsutaya O-East in Shibuya. There will likely be those who challenge this game during Golden Week in preparation for the game this summer.
