The popular MF Bunko J (Kadokawa Media Factory) light novel Aria the Scarlet Ammo is being developed into a new project called Project Code AA. Newly announced at this time is Part 3 of this project, the anime adaptation of the spin-off series Aria the Scarlet Ammo AA.
This information was announced on Dec. 18 during the web radio show Aria the Scarlet Ammo: Butei High PR Office News. Aria the Scarlet Ammo AA is a spin-off currently serialized in Young Gangan (Square Enix) as a comic version of a story written by author Chugaku Akamatsu. The main character is Aria H. Kanzaki’s underclassman, Akari Mamiya, and the enjoyable story conveys a different point of view than the original series.
At the time of the anime adaptation being greenlit, Akamatsu released the following comment: “Currently, a popular studio is diligently working on the anime to Aria the Scarlet Ammo! And I’m even writing the scenario! Look forward to it!” Because the author himself is also writing the anime, this announcement is raising fans’ excitement. In addition to this comment, a PV announcing the anime adaptation is available on the official site. Make sure not to miss out on information to come, including the production studio being revealed.
In celebration of the anime being greenlit, a joint event with Mikagura Gakuen Kumikyoku, another MF Bunko J series becoming an anime, will be held on Dec. 23. Mini tote bags with a collaboration flyer in them commemorating the anime adaptation will be given out at Akihabara Gamers Honten and Animate Ikebukuro Honten. Aria the Scarlet Ammo cosplayers in Akihabara and Mikagura Gakuen Kumikyoku cosplayers in Ikebukuro will also be at this pleasant event handing out the items.
In other news, the newest light novel in the series, Aria the Scarlet Ammo 19, will release on Dec. 25 with a price of 580 yen (tax not included).
