Today (Aug. 28), Bandai Namco Games announced that its ninja action game Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 3, which released on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on April 18, 2013, has broken through 2 million total copies sold worldwide. The breakdown is as follows: 250,000 copies sold in Japan and Asia (release date: April 18, 2013), 1 million copies sold in North America (release date: March 5, 2013), and 750,000 copies sold in Europe (release date: March 8, 2013). The game stands out as being highly popular even overseas.
Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 3 is a title in the Ultimate Ninja Storm series of games based on Naruto (author: Masashi Kishimoto) to which there is a currently broadcasting TV Tokyo anime called Naruto Shippuden. The series is popular for its beautiful graphics and intense ninja battles, as well as the more than 80 ninja characters from the anime that appear.
A new game in the Ultimate Ninja Storm series titled Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm Revolution will release on Sept. 11 on the PS3 and Xbox 360.

*Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 3*, which released in Japan and Asia on April 18, 2013, has now surpassed 2 million copies sold worldwide, a record for the most copies sold of a game in the series. Author Masashi Kishimoto even drew a signed illustration in celebration of surpassing 2 million copies sold. Having been able to accomplish the feat of breaking through 2 million copies sold in a little over a year is all thanks to the fans all over the world who have played the game and the help of everyone involved. We also received support from developer CyberConnect2 so as to be able to transmit 100% the world and sense of warmth of the original work. I proudly think that the result of this is the many people who have played it, and it has also made me recognize anew the immense responsibility that we have. Having the same beautiful graphics as Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 3, the newest game in the popular ninja battle action series Ultimate Ninja Storm, in which players can enjoy battles that make them feel like they’re controlling the anime, will release on Sept. 11. The game will feature over 100 playable characters, the most for the series to date. It will also include over 50 minutes of new animation created by Studio Pierrot, the same studio that works on the anime, which will reveal for the first time a new story not depicted thus far in the original manga or anime.
